New Acoustic - Mahogany + Spruce

We are building this guitar in a new jig we made. So far, it is working much better than our previous method.

This is the jig:

Bracing the top - My favorite part of the build:

First Set of Bracing clamped down with a Go-Bar Deck
Last few braces, the X-Bracing
-Finished Bracing-

Here is the Spruce top next to the sides in it's jig.

I'm going to be adding a few inlays on both the headstock and the neck, I'm not sure what the theme is going to be yet... but I'll think of something.

This guitar is going to sound great!

SATA Family

I recently purchased a SATA Jet 3000.
Still waiting on my new compressor to get here, so I can't wait to use it.

Here are my two guns:

Electric Guitars Taking Shape

Paul Smith's second guitar from us.
Wenge Back & Quilted Maple Top.

Wenge back.

We will use this guitar as our show model:
One Piece Solid Swamp Ash
Both Guitars have a Birds Eye Maple neck with Ebony Fingerboard.

The Swamp Ash is nearly complete. I just need to finish carving it and then it's ready to be finished.

Kurt the Lefty

Kurt Brunner, from the Christian Ministry "Help for all Nations" (in Austin) came by the shop yesterday for a BBQ and to pick up his custom guitar.

Since neither I nor my brother can play left handed, we were just as excited as Kurt was to hear it. The guitar really sounded amazing, we were all very pleased with it.

New Detail Shop

We turned half of a room into a shop so we can have a place for detail finish work. I built a cabinet with a work bench on top. The work bench has room underneath it so we can clamp anything anywhere on the table.
It isn't anything special, and as you can see... I build guitars better than I do cabinets, but it serves it's purpose well. We now have TONS of storage for tools & wood.

The cabinet measures 13' in length, and the table on top is 2' deep. It is extremely stable, it won't move no matter how much force you put on it.

I will eventually put some molding along the edges & corners and stain it, but we need to spend the time working on guitars. As you can see, a few of them are in the works!

Lefty

The tonewood for a guitar we have been commissioned to build has just been dropped off from our good friend, the UPS man.

This guitar is slightly different. Different in the aspect that it is our first left handed guitar.

Mahogany back & sides, Spruce top, Mahogany neck. All bound in Rosewood with a Fishman Prefix Pro pickup system installed.

Here is a snapshot of the Spruce after we jointed edges.

I will post more photos as the build progresses.
